It’s very easy for us entrepreneurs just to focus on the $ signs and cash elements of business or even life.
While I’ll be the first to stay how important money is and how it does help make you happier (if you’ve got your stuff sorted in the first place), it should never be the only focus.
Throughout your entrepreneurial journal you’ll have hectic and stressful periods, along with periods when you may also be short for cash if you are re-investing, scaling or just going through a bad period.
Now, if your only ever focused on the monetary value or amount of $$$ in the bank, it’ll become easy to burn out and want to quit during these periods.
In my opinion, you should always be focusing on items, experiences or things that make you happy daily/weekly. This doesn’t mean you should just kick back and not work, but, a healthy balance (where you still do 10X more than the average joe) is going to give you a happy life, happy family and motivate you even more towards success.
For me, a big part of this is experiences and travel (as you’ve probably guessed), so I spend tens of thousands each year to make this happen. Continued travel and vacations give me a mental break and a few days of just part time work to re-charge.
Additionally, I pay crazy amounts for a Bayfront apartment as that’s something I wake up to everyday which makes me happy. Both of these are literally the worst investment i could make from a financial perspective, but, it gives me that balance and makes me happy, motivating me to work harder and harder each day to keep the luxury lifestyle I can now experience.
It’s great to be grinding 16 hours per day, but, you need to find inner happiness and external happiness from other parts of life that aren’t just related to your business or money. When you do, everything will just become even better, including the money you earn 😏💰
